Belief as a system

Euan Semple has raised the prospect of the opportunity and need for a new religion, in the post-industrial age of the web.

My perspective is that religion is a system of shared belief, generally embellished with dogma and ritual. Like any other system, a religion has boundaries and overlaps – due to commonality of roots, or other ‘devotional’ elements. Continue reading article »
